You don't have to keep feeling stuck.
Sometimes you know exactly what is bothering you. Other times, you simply know that something doesn't feel right.
You may be carrying the effects of trauma or difficult experiences, or feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected or stuck in patterns that are difficult to change.
Counselling can provide a space to understand what is happening beneath the surface, process what has been difficult, and begin moving toward something different.
My work brings together evidence-informed therapeutic approaches with attention to the whole person - mind, body, lifestyle and environment.
About Heidi
I’m Heidi Kaseweter, a Certified Clinical Counsellor and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist in Prince George, BC.
I’ve been supporting individuals through counselling for more than 20 years, with experience working across a wide range of mental health concerns and life experiences. My work has increasingly focused on trauma, emotional wellbeing, and the many factors that influence how we feel and function in our everyday lives.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative and individualized. Rather than using the same approach for everyone, we work together to understand what is happening, what may be contributing to it, and which therapeutic approaches and practical tools best fit your needs and goals.
I draw from evidence-informed approaches including trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, cognitive behavioural strategies, mindfulness and hypnotherapy, while also considering the broader factors that can affect wellbeing - such as stress, sleep, relationships, lifestyle and connection.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling.
We can start with where you are.
Examples of Services Offered
Trauma & EMDR
Trauma doesn't always look like what we imagine trauma should look like.
It can affect the way we see ourselves, relate to others, respond to stress, sleep, regulate emotions and experience our bodies -sometimes long after an event has passed.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the approaches I use to help people process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional intensity associated with them.
Trauma-focused counselling may be helpful for difficult or overwhelming experiences, childhood or relational trauma, distressing memories or triggers, anxiety and emotional reactivity, and patterns that no longer serve you.
Therapy is paced according to your needs.
You don't have to tell your entire story before you're ready.

A Different Kind of Therapy
Therapy can be more than talking about what’s wrong.
My approach looks at the whole person - your experiences, patterns, relationships, lifestyle, physical wellbeing and the things that help you feel grounded and connected.
Together, we can explore not only what may be contributing to how you’re feeling, but also practical ways to support meaningful and sustainable change.
Depending on your needs and goals, our work may include trauma-informed counselling, EMDR, cognitive behavioural strategies, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, nervous-system regulation and lifestyle-focused approaches.
The goal is not perfection. It’s helping you better understand yourself, build tools that work for you, and create changes that support your overall wellbeing.
Therapy should feel practical, personal and
relevant to your life.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy can help you access a deeply relaxed and focused state in which you can work with patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour.
It may be incorporated into counselling or used as a more focused intervention depending on your goals.
Hypnotherapy may be helpful for areas such as:
Stress and relaxation • Sleep • Confidence and self-esteem • Habit change • Anxiety • Pain management • Performance and personal goals

Children & Youth
Children and youth can experience many of the same challenges as adults, but they may not always have the words to explain what they are feeling or what they need.
Counselling can provide a supportive space to help young people better understand their emotions, develop coping skills, build confidence and find healthier ways of responding to stress and difficult experiences.
I adapt my approach to each young person’s age, developmental stage, needs and goals, and involve parents or caregivers when appropriate.
Counselling may support children and youth experiencing anxiety, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, self-esteem concerns, life changes, relationship challenges or difficult experiences.
